John Schwartz, 15, was bound over
to the grand Jury today on a charge
of first degree murder, as the re
sult ot shooting his father to deatu.
The fatal shot wa3 fired while the
father was punishing another sou.
The elder Schwartz died Sunday.
The Elks temple will be placked
tonight to hear the Normandy Bell
Ringers and attend the dance which
follows.
This is the prediction of local
Elks who have arranged for the
appearance of the eastern boys who
are on a concert tour of the Pacific
coast.
A varied program will be given
including classical hnd popular
numbers. The quartette numbers

good as the boys have been going
over big all over the coast.

The Sperry Master Recipe 1
POUND CAKE bread pan size
1 cup butter
1 cups sugar
2 cups Sperry Drifted
Sntnv Flour
5 fgs
1 j teaspoon baking powdrr
I teaspoon each lemon and
vanilla extract
Cream butter alone till it can be beaten with a spoon,
then add sugar gradually, beating mixture antil
creamy. Separate eggs; beat yolks until thick, and
whites until stiff. Add beaten yolks to the creamed
Gutter and sugar; mix well, then add portion of the
Hour. Stir (do not beat) until smooth, then fold in a
portion of the stiffly beaten egg whites. Continue to
fold in flour and eggwhitcs alternately ; add flavoring,
and iour into an ungreased paper lined pan. Bake
inavetymoderateoven (3253F.)one hour for square
or round cake and longer if a deep bread pan is used.
Cool thoroughly before cutting. Keeps moist and
fresh two weeks at least.

shredded citron; 1 cup bleached Sultana raisins; j cup
shredded blancncd almonds. Bake a& for Pound Cake, the
Master Recipe.

Prepare the Master K.ipe. When sifting Hour add I tea
spoon each of nutmeg and cinnamon and j teaspoon each
cloves and allspice. Fill ungreased mufhn pans half full of
mixture and bake in a slow oven (3253 F.) for about 45
minutes. A cupful of raisins, nuts or shredded citron may
be added.
