office, visited several houses and
then early Wednesday morning took
a room, number BOB, in the Arcade
hotel, with McCarthy.
According to Hobinson's story, he
was awakened at 11 p. m. Wednes
day by McCarthy, who excitedly
pointed n finger at the window and
declared a man bad just disappeared
down the fire escape.
Roblhson rushed to the window
und saw nothing that indicated, a
fleeing robber. He then ascertained
that his roll of bills, which he owed
to his employers, was gone.
A thought struck him, and he
rushed to tho door of the room,
where he found out that whereas
when they went to bed it was lock
ed, it had mysteriously become un
locked since he went to sleep,

the corridor several doors, it devel
oped. When he was arrested by po
lice und searched, a roll of bills
which Robinson said corresponded
with his money was found on him,
