Own Sales Record
DETROIT. Mich.. Sept. 29. The
Chevrolet Motor Company has ail-;
ded another record to the series off
Bales and production marks estab
lished this year.
The new record is represented by
the deliveries to Chevrolet dealers
during August. A final check of
August deliveries plaues the figures
at 41,500, a larger number of cars
than the company ever Iras placed
with its dealers during any preced
ing August.
The August deliveries even ex
ceeded those made during either
June or July of this year.
The achievement of the August
record preceded by only a few days
production of the two-millionth car
by the Chevrolet Motor company,
the first manufacturer of selective .
gear sniff automobiles to attain that
figure, i
Maintenance iif deliveries through
the summer months is cited by R.
H. Grant, general sales mauager of
the Chevrolet Motor company, as
to dors.; mora of. his statumeut madev He
several months ago that the auto
motive industry is approaching a
more stable and uniform basis.
"Eventually automobile produc
tion will be nearly uniform through
out the year," he said. "The sea
sonable peaKs and valleys of pro
duction are being flattened out."
Another Batch of
Horses in Pound
Another batch of horses, tramp
ling over yards and gardens of lo
cal residents, were herded into the
city pound la.st night bringing the
grand total, since the offensive
against offending livestock, to 35.
They will be held in the pound
for a reasonable time and then sold
at public auction to the highest
bidder.
