ita) Journal today laid before Dis
trict Attorney John Carson a demand
for an investigation of conditions

escape from the Ore
gon state penitentiary by the Marlon
county grand Jury.
The demand came as the result
of Governor I'lerce's failure to make
public the report of his special com
mittee that Investigated the break,
or to carry out the recommendations
supposed to be contained In thut re
port, which is known to recommend
the removal of Warden A. M. Ual-rymple.
