SALEM. Ore.. Sept. 17. Because
Of lar-k o.' funds caused by a de
creased appropriation by the 1925
legislature, the striate library board
today voted to cut from S00 to 500
tho number of small towns and
communities in the state where the
traveling libraries from tho stale li
brary shall circulate.
Another measure of ecoivrm1 was
promulgation ot a rule that all
state library patrons in Marion
and Polk counties must get their
books by mail and not apply for
them in person. This will make
possible a decrease in help. Salem
is to bo an exception to this rule.
Miss Cornelia Marvin wus re-elected
state librarian. Governor Pierce
was elected chairman of the board
and J. A. Churchill was elected
vice .chairman. Edward Piper and

CHILOQUIN
One of tho lovliest drives in
Klamath county, so far as scenic
beauty is concerned, is up the

quiu, but after one trip over the
rough, dangerous road over boul
ders and unspeakable ruts one
neve has tho physical courage to
repeat the trip, or the moral cour
age to even express a desire to
do so. This road should be put in
good condition litllo children are
transported twice a day over it
to school safety first for them and
the read at least made passably j
fair for tho thousands of tourists j
who come to our country each )
summer to enjoy our beautiful woods
and unexcelled fishing streams.
