Merrill Schools
Show Big Growth
The Increase In the Merrill grade

The higCi seho.-l enrollment is slight
ly over wltat It was at .the same
time lust year, with several more
students yet to enroll.
Despite this increase in both the
grades aud high s.'ht vl, Lester Turn
baugh. superintendent of the Merrill
schools, reports that ithe so'io.i is
better equipped for tho best typo
of school work than it hw been f.v
years. Due to oho fact that three
new classrooms were made out f
tho old Gymnaotum, all the grades
are now iou the same floor, facUILat
ing intercourse among the grades
and making supervision and mutual
help among the teachers more feas
ible. Since the high school has all of
the third floor for its own use a
new science room has been arrang
ed, tables ore being installed, and
with uho new equipment of last year
ia excellent condition, the school Is
much better equipped for the teao't
ing of science. The old science
room Cs now being used as a com
mercial rcom. Sixteen of the 41
students now enrolled are taking
typing. Tho English room is now
used as a library and reading room.
Mlore research assignments are notw
being given to the students, due to
the increased opportunity the library
room affords for Ihs project wock.
New blackboards are being in
stalled in the grade rooms ovor the
week-end, aud the new furnace
