A tactical error wan committed
thiH morning by an advertising no-
licitor endeavoring to secure ads
for a racing program at the county
fair.
Tho mlstako lay in the fact that
tho wrong party was solicited and
as a result there Is somo doubt
whether or not the solicitor will
have much more success in landing
local merchants for the columns of
his program.
The solicitor approached Thalia
W. Newcomb, secretary of the fair
board, thinking that Mrs. Newcomb
was an employe at the I'ellcan Bay
Lumber company, whom he hud seen
when lie had culled on that con
cern for the purpose of getting an
advertisement.
Gradually Mra. Newcomb drew
out of the solicitor what It was
all about, and as a result she au
thorized the announcement this
morning that the fair board Is put
ting out its own racing program
and that the programs will be dis
tributed free at the fair grounds.

The club meets twice each month

"The points that are bothering
us are: What basis of representa
