days in Klamath Falls with her
mother, Mrs. Thos. Martin,
Mrs. Hose Davis, aud E. A. and
Sumner Davis were in Klamath
Falls Saturday on business.

Mrs. M. A. Howard accompanied
them home and will visit her sister,
Mrs. Frank Briggs, a former resi
dent of Merrill.
Mr. W. F. Hill and Louis Hill
returned from a short trip to San
Francisco Thursday evening.
Rev. C. C. Hulet returned Fri
day evening from Portland. He
was accompanied home by Mrs. Hul
et and daughter, Miss Evelyn, who
have been staying in Portland for
some time.
Mrs. J. W. Scoggins' Sunday
school class, the Live Wires, gave
an ice cream social at the club
rooms Saturday evening. Though
it was a very stormy evening, a
fair crowd was out and a very
good time was had. One of the at
tractions was the fortune teller. Miss
Anna Hill, impersonating a Gypsy,
read the palms of all who crossetl
her palm with silver. Her make
up was very clever. The class
sang several songs which were very
amusing parodies on I'amlliar songs.
They all played a number of games.
There was also a candy booth and
ice cream and cake were served.
The girls took in about $17.
Mr. Wayne Carleton of Lebanon.
Oregon, was the guest of honor at
birthday dinner at the home of
his aunt. Miss Maude M. Carleton,
at Klamath Falls. Plates were laid
for Mr. and Mrs. 6. H. Carleton.
Mrs. C. V. Fisher, Mrs. Sarah (Jow-
Ifred Carleton, Wayne Carlton,
the honor guest, and the hostess.
Mr. Carleton is spending the sum
mer in Klamath county.
Saturday evening the M. W. of A.
had initiation at the lodge rooms.
This was followed with refresh
ments. Till; is a very live order.
Mr. and MVs. Arthur Frazier and
sons. Lawrence and Donald, were
Klamath Falls visitors Sunday.
. Mrs. Jennie Jones is spending a
few days in Klamath Falls visiting
frientls and relatives.

Bowman of Central Point, visited
at the home of their grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. Bowman, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wright, resi
dents of Merrill for a number of
years, left Saturday for Central
Point, Oregon, where they expect
to make their home in the future.
Mr. Wright was until recently in
business in Merrill having disposed
of his part of the candy kitchen
to his partner.
Miss Helen Anderson spent last
week with relatives in California.
