Six hundred acres of peat land of volunteer oat crops,
were on fire this afternoon on the Siemens and Bloom
ingcamp' 1500-acre ranch on the west side of Klamath
lake near the Skillet handle.
Adjacent tracts of fertile peat land in Caledonia marsh
and Wocus valley were threatened by the blaze which
has been slowly but surely spreading since its inception
last night
Heavy stands of timber which border the ranch are
threatened by the blai&c and a representative of the
Klamath Forest Protective Association is on hand to
