of lumbermen who, decid
ing to cast their eggs into

Aleutian Archipelago stated
that the United States coast
guard cutter Bear, was a
shore at Cape Prine of
Wales, at the western end
of Eeward Peninsula, in
Bering Strait
The message read: "Bear
ashore on Cape Prince of
Wales village. Fresh south
east wind."
The Bear was on her an
nual cruise to the Arctic
ocean. She carried food to
points along the extreme
northern coast of Alaska
and Canada.

robbers who rifled the pock
ets of several dozen loggers
and stole $200 in cash, two
: expensive watches and a
' $62 check.
The robbery was quietly
and neatly effected. Only
one logger awoke and he
saw two men moving around
; quietly inside the bunk
house. He thought they
were his- companions and
after looking at his watch
which designated the time
I at 2 a. in., went back to
; sleep.
The thieves moved quick
ly from one bunk house to
'another and turned the
j pockets of nearly all the em
ployes in each house inside
'out Eight men suffered
' the entire loss, according to
word from the lumber
camp this afternoon.
No evidence of an inside
job was apparent. It is
! thought that perhaps some
i loggers who had been previ
ously employed by the
i Ewauna Box company and
knew the location of each
bunk house was responsible
for the robbery.
No trouble was experienc
; ad in entering the sleeping
j quarters of the men as the
doors to the bunk houses
were open.
The sheriff's office today
; is working on the theory
; that the robbers are the men
