The picnic is for all members of
the order and their friends, and the
committee in charge will greatly ap

Park Board Meet
Open to Public
When the city park board meets
tonight in the couucil chambers of
the city hall with representatives of
the Southern Pacific and Great
Northern railroad companies for the
purpose of coming to some agree
ment for the sale of the South Kiv
erside park property to either rail
road or both, it will be with the dis
tinct understanding that the. meet
ing is public.
This was the announcement made
last night by Mayor Ooddard. A num
ber of citiens think that the meeting
is private, whereas any meeting in
the city ball is open to the public,
the mayor explained.
The mayor invited the council to
attend the meetinng holding that
a matter of vital concern to the
city was to be taken up and prob
ably decided.

Churchill to Be
Here for Meeting

J. A. Churchill, state superintend
ent of schools will be present at
the teacher's institute which will bo
held September 3 and I at the
Klamath County high school. Pur
pose of the institute Is to give all
teachers of schools in the county
an intensive two day course in edu
cation. Speakers will be here from
Oreon Agricultural College and the
I University of Oregon.
