Here's one motorist who got mirt:
"I've been following my mileage with a Red Crown
Mileage Card, and 111 say the Standard Oil Company
knows how to make real mileage gasoline. I'm gatting
280 miles on a 20-gallon tank against 220 miles just a
month ago, so I'm 60 miles to the good. How's that?"

Crown" start "saving miles" today. Buy from

i "The farmers of the aectidn are
all of old American stock, thrifty,
industrious and good farnierj. Tho
population of the vallex is upproxl-
mutely 7000 und the valley Is about
' 100 miles Ions. They were so anxi
ous to hear about the opportunities
I in Klamath that 1 bad a difficult
rime in getting away from one
farmer to talk U another. Wherever
I went it was the same. Everybody
had heard about or had read about
Klamath county, and all expressed
either their dicislon or their desire
to come to Klomath and settle here
if conditions were as .favorable a
had been described.
"The valley Is on the down grade.
Already one can see where tho water
that Los Angeles has bought is

sage brush and waste. BuslnOoS
men of the town of Uislup told
me that businesi had fallen of be
tween 20 and 60 per cent.
All a result, not only farmers
but business men want to get out.
iiUt they can sell only to Los An-
Igeles because under the existing cir-
cumstan:es nobody wants to buy
property in Owens valley. L0.1 Angel
es, however, buys up the property
just as it needs the water and
therefore many farmers must await
till they can sell to that city. Busi
ness men of Illshop told me that
thoy favored Klamath Falls to any
other city that they iiad heard of
and Intended to come here and look
over the business opportunities."
Cattlemen May Stay
Mr. Henderson Interviewed many
livestock men and found that while
IS or 20 planned to move away,
either to Klamath or some other
section, that the majority had de
cided to await developments.
"With nearly everybody In the
valley moved uwuy and with some
water available, livestock men would
have an abundance of grazing land
in the valley", Mr. Henderson said.
"So they plan to see what happens
before selling out."
The county agent interviewed fruit
growers of the Sunland district In
the valley and found these farmers
unxlous to move to Klamath. They
had, it appeared, been livestock men
and diversified farmers before mov
ing to Owens valley, and were anxi
ous to forsake fruit growing and re
turn to their original occupation.
"Altogether the situation looks
good," Mr. Henderson said, "I feel
that Klamath will get a large per
centage of the Owens valley farm
