Day by day the sheriff's force of
tax collectors has worked on de
linquencies until on July 1 the
books showed that tax delinquencies
In tho sum of $85,476.23 bad been
collected sice the first of the year.
The delinquent taxes extend back
as far as 1912 and run up to tho
delinquencies of 192S. Delinquencies
collected for 1923 were especially
high, with a sum ot ?48, 129.16.
Ix;ss than half of tho taxes for
the year of 1924 had been collected
by July 1 of this year, the- semi
annual report disclosed. Tho total
1924 taxes ' collected Was $409,
440.45. Taxes for 1923 amounted , to
$989,899.53, which Is slightly under
the taxes for 1924, : -which total
$1,045,287.96.
