lar trips with Mr. (illcrest as guide
will bo' made to Mt. tlnldy, on the
west side ot the lake, and to Mt.
Thlelson on the east side ot the
lake. Other trips will be arranged
by Mr. Gllcrest If desired by a party
largo enough to warraint tho trip.
All tho horses are in fine sbnpe,
having spent the winter near Prlne
ville, where Mr. (Illcrest got them
Into condition tor the rather trying
three months' summer work. While
not difficult to handle, tho horses
are all spirited and full ot vigor.
Tbe bear dogs', says Mr. GilcroHt,
are go-getters and will ably assist
anyoue who wishes to go after bear
meat. Last year after, hunting sea
son 'opened Mr.. Gilcrost conducted
several httutlng trips Into the' less
frequented parts ot the Cascades.
Although the rush of tho Kourth
ot July has subsided at tho lake,
a steady alream of. taurlsts Is com
