Hoggs home on Sunday when tho

family and tho C. D. Chorpening
family. The dinner table was set
out of Joors under the shade trees
and all present had a very enjoy-
lable day with reminiscences of tho
past.

visitors, were Mrs. George

Barbara Cllno; Mrs.. Cy Pool, Mrs.
Archie Pankey of flouanzu, Mrs. C.

Merrill. Ice cream and cake were
served by the hostess, assisted by
Mrs. Chorpening and Mrs. Cy Con
ley. All present had a very enjojv
able time. The July club meeting
will be held with Mrs. Oscar
Campbell.

The property owners of Miller
; Island met in the county snporin

purpose of providing a bus line to
1 take the high school students to
Klamath Falls the coming season.
There are no county roads on the
Island, which is greatly needed. We
j hone our county road supervisor will
come to onr rescue and help us out
j with a connty road.
The youngsters have returned
(from the O. A. C. They arrived in
Klamath Falls Saturday evening at
3 p. m. Those returning to Midland
were. Mrs. Sovlck.'Paul and Mary
Scvick. Pauline Burnett, Guldo Ro
bustelli, Mrs. James Burnett, Anna
Burnett. Joe Wright Jr. They all
reported having a pleasant trip and
hope to be able to attend tho O. A.
C. another year.
. Mrs. J. D.' Hooper and daughter,
Opal, Mr. and Mrs. Vm. Hooper and
daughter were In the Kcno district
looking over their grain crops on
the Kearns tract, where they have
nearly 900 acres of grain, which is
showing good prospects for a large
crop this fall.
Edgar Furber has been busy im
proving the looks of his new house
by giving it a new coat of paint this
week.
Mr. Oldcmcycr of Klamath Falls
was on the Island Saturday looking
over the sugar beet crops.
Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Burnett and
family were in Klamath Falls Satur
day on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sutton and son,
James, were among the shoppers In
Klamath Falls Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Furber and
son, Lewis, were county seat visitors
on Saturday.
Mrs. Edna Flowers was in Klam
ath Falls on Saturday purchasing
supplies for the Midland store.
Edward Royce was among the
Klamath Falls visitors Saturday.

daughter, Anna, of Spring Lake

from tho north and south. Since lust
summer Mullu has added consider
ably to Its business section and resi
dential portion. A new restaurant
and ice cream parlor nro among the
new business openiugs. Two new
business buildings are Hearing com
pletion. The truck gardeners are brlug
ing in supplies ot early vegetables
and report potatoes and other later
varieties of vegetables to bo ready
in a few weeks. Tito local markets
are being supplied by local farm
ers so far as possible.
The Malln delegation to the
summer course at Corvallls re
turned with the other boys and
girls on Saturday. Juno 27. Those
attending from Malln were Nell
Craig. Martha Jcllnek, Irene MrNull-l
and John and Percy McNeil and '
Earl Wilson. These young folks re
port a fine time nud on interesting
two weeks while at Corvallls.
