HOT AIR DOGS
Recent archaeloglcal Investiga
tions have brought to light Informa
tion Indicating that the eminent Mr.
Dunyan had a Leghorn hen, and that
this fowl laid tho bricks that were
used to construct the pyramids.
Lumberlogue has engaged the illus
trious scientist, niondy Knoder, to
gather material on this record mak
ing hen, and to verify the authen
ticity of the reports that she actual
ly laid the bricks for the pyramids.
Speaking of the doughty and vir
tuous Paul, we understand that the
slight ripple In the terrain near Dia
mond Lake, commonly called Mt.
Thielson, was used as a tee by that
well known logging contractor when
he Invented the ancient and honor
able game of golf.
S. C. Millard, of the Ewanna saw
mill, favors putting all bootleggers
on a merit Bystem. Under this sys
tem, a man who sold good' stuff
would be rewarded when caught by
officers one selling rotten stuff
would be fined heavily, or even
bung, provided his stock In trade
was rotten enough.
Current reports that all the beav
ers are gone from the reservation
are Incorrect, according to Barney
Deyo, deck scaler at the Ewauna
mill. Deyo declares that the beav
ers are all limbing trees lor me
gypoes at Ewauna camp, and shows
some of the logs as proof that they
were limbed by beavers.
Prune tree logging is going on at
great rate in the upper Willa
mette valley. In fact, the prune
knockers aro favoring stringent
prune protective measures and a
strenuous reforestation campaign.
We advise any doubting the time
honored, hoary visaged adage con
cerning the virtues of advertising to
question,. Ace Jackson.
The sportsmen of Ewauna mill,
and particularly those fond of hunt
ing jaekrabblts. are taking up a col
lection to buy a pair of tin pants for
Leslie Nlghton, clean-up man. They
believe, after witnessing Nightons
performance on all fours following
the accident with the nigger, that
they would gain valuable practice
rby getting him to sprint about on
all fours for them to shoot at.
