Whether she receives a house-keeping allowance or has an in
come of her own, she should open a savings account and ac
cumulate a substantial sum of money. Only the woman who -has
a savings account can fully realize the feeling of independ-
ence.
Your account can be opened with one dollar, or more. Then
you take home the artistic Utile book bank. Put in spare . 1
change whenever it's convenient. . It's almost startling the way

1JISIXKSH VISITOR
Alfred Keller, well Known Lan
gcll Valley rancher, was a business
visitor in Klamath Falls today.
HEW YORK. June 6. (A. P.)
The shadow of a heavyweight who
climbed to pugilistic fame out of
tho trenches of the world war today
stretched across the puth of Jack
Dempsey.
Gono Tunncy has done whut no
pthef heavyweight, not even Demp
soy 'himself, has boon able to do
conquer Tom Gibbons by a knock
out. After 11 rounds of fighting with
out thrills at the 'Polo grounds last
night, the former A. E. F. light
heavyweight champion sent tho
game veteran from St. Paul down
for - the count under a smashing
right to the chin in tho twelfth.
The crowd was stunned. In the
round before It had booed tho two
men far failure to put up the hot
fight which had been expected, but
apparently Tunncy alone was awaro
that his foe, a veteran of 36 years,
was wilting under the gruelling
fire at close quarters. After ono
minute and 20 seconds of the twelf
th round Tunney put out one of the
most formidable heavywolg!it con
tenders in the country.
A tight which felled Gibbons in
a neutral corner so dazed-ulm that
be was unable to get his bearings
as he arose. Tunney' lunded another
wallop to the chin and this time
Gibbons was finished. Tho win
ner whom Dempsey has promised
to meet, fought well throughout,
but Gibbons appeared only a shell
of the greater boxer who stood off
the champion at Shejby. Only In
the eighth did tho St. Paul man
treat his audienco to fireworks.
While. Gibbons fought, 'his wife
lay ill in u St. Paul hospital. The
fighter's friends and that worry
over her condition undoubtedly had
j something to do with his defeat,
j Post-fight statements follow:
j Tunney "If the fans think 1
j should fight Hurry Wills first, I am
: ready to take blni en at any time
'this summer, but I really think thj
knockout over Gibbons ,1s enough J
earn a match with tho champion."
Gibbons 'I don't remember what
round tho bout ended in. I fought
the best I could, but tho best I lii 1
was not good enough. That's all."
