No. 44 a force of veterans are ac

states, however, popples for the
local sale are being made within
tbe state by tbe state's own war
veteran sons.
Tho Buddy Poppy label, which
is on every flower, has been form
ally registered by the Veterans of
Foreign Wars to prevent any in
fringement upon it and to guaran
tee to tbe public the actual manu
facture of tbe poppies by disabled
and needy ex-service men. "Buddy
Poppy" is the name the men them
selves selected for tho flower. The
entire proceeds . of the sale are

Almost all the disabled poppy
makers are unable to be rehabili
tated by the Veterans' Bureau be
cause their disability' was not con
templated by" tbe war rh)lc and vo
cational training) laws when passed

ot livelihood which the majority,
because of their crippled condition,
would be helpless to earn in their
