The Jabot Returns
Anna Q. Nilsson Wears a
Frock Which Includes Fash
ion's Favorite of the Moment
Seasons coma and go and the
styles which accompany them vary
greatly. Here and tht-re, however,
a style favored in seasons past re
turns to find an equally warm wol
como when adapted to tho present
mode.
The Jabot, which was so much
tbe vogue sovcral seasons ago, Is
one of the present season's de
lights. Just now, however, tt has
returned with a new feeling of Im
portance, for, rather than becoming
a mere ornamentation to the gown.
It has become Its chief figure, and
the gown Is frequently designod
I around the Jabot.
1 UU JUUUl III llini.j nooa ucqiiio
at the neck, In a collar design uud
extends down the entlra length ot
the garment, in uneven and be
witching lines. It is this sort of
Jnhot which makes the gown of
Anna Q. Nilsson, In the First Na
tional film, "One Way Street," so
distinctive.
Miss Nllsson's gown Is of black
satin, with a jabot ot white which
starts as a broad and effective col
lar and ends at the hem of tha
frock In a very broad panel effect.
Most distinctive Is this form ot
trimming, particularly when It com
bines tho ever fashlonnblo black
and white.
The Jabot, of course, may be
small In style, and yet land a new
and pleasing nolo to the costume.
But tho original to ,ch Is added
when It falls in graceful lines down
the entlro front ot tho gown. Very
happy color combinations are
achieved by the uso of the cas
"ado Jabot and one of tbe season's
favorites is a red chiffon or crepe
silk Jabot lending a colorful and In
triguing note to tha navy blue frock
