Dr. John S. Boyce, forest patho
logist in the V. S. Department ot
Agriculture, left Portland for Eng
land on April 30 to begin a study
of Douglas tir canker. This study
will last, approximately six months,
of which bout tour months will be
spent throughout England and Scot
land, with a short- star in Ireland.
Portland will be reached again in
khe late fall after a stop in the
