NELSTON CRACK SHOT
ON DANGEROUS GAME
Mrnrod Nclaton Wins Title of Old
HurcMliot 111 Wolf
Forray
Tales of tho hunting exploits of
Jack Nelston continue to pour In.
The latest one romea from very au
thentic sources, who beard the nar
rative from tho lips 0 Nelston him
self.
It seems that on one of bis many
hunting expeditions, Nelston was
assailed by pack of thirty-nine
wolvea. Hustlly counting his cart
ridges as be made for a tree with
the wolvea In full crjr at bla beelj,
he discovered that ho bad but thirty
nine ahella. However, this did not
worry Mm greatly, for his trusty
rifle was made by the same gun
smith who made the shotgun of
Paul Dunyan that would kill geese
so high In the air that they would
-
spoil before they hit the ground.
Nelston went to a limb of the tree
barely beyond the snapping fangs
of the wolves, took careful aim, and
shot one down. The bloodthirsty
pack Immediately devoured their
dead comrade, and so the next, and
tbe next, until but one wolf re
mained. .Nelston took careful aim
and dispatched this wolf, which tbe
largeat and most ferocious of tbe
pack. Indeed, -he was" bo blood
thirsty that he devoured himself Im
mediately after being struck between
tbe eyea with a bullet from the high
powered rifle.
