is reported not as serious as was ex
pected, and. It. is probable that he
will Improve steadily. Da Costa has
many friends among the lumber
men of Klomath who will be glad to
loam ot his improvement.

PORTLAND, April 6. The Thir
teenth semi-annual meeting of the
board ot directors ot the 4L organi
zation will bo held May 18 and 17
at the Portland hotel here, accord
ing to an announcement given out
at 4L headquarters today. The board
is composed of twelve employe and
twelve employer members represent
ing the various 4L districts of Ore
gon, Washington and Idaho, nnd it
will act on resolutions and petitions
brought before it from the district
board meetings.
The district board meetings are
scheduled as follows: at Spokane,
April 21; Baker, April 23; Bend,
April 25; Raymond, Wn., April 28;
Wendllng, Ore., April 30; Portland,
May 2; Hoqulam, May 6; Tacoma,
Mby 6, and Seattle, May 7. '

RAY RHODES VICTIM
OF SERIOUS INJURY
It Is -as yet uncertain whether-It
will be possible to Bave the hand of
Ray Rhodes, who was injured at the
Ewauna Box factory list week.
Rhodes was adjusting the guide on
a tandem band saw when the wrench
he was using slipped, throwing his
hand Into the saw.

pneumonia. Cartlor's condition has

jammer for that compony. Cartler's
home Is In Minneapolis.
Ewnuna Has Carrlngc Trouble
A broken bracket on tho carriage
kept a repair crew working all Wed
nesday night and Thursday morning
on the carriage at the Ewauna saw
mill. The trouble was noticed be
fore the quitting time of the night
shift Wednesday night, but the mill
managed' to finish the shift before
starting repair work.

founders of the old Chelsea Box
company here, was in town last week
from Sacramento, where he operates
a box factory. Setzer was looking
over the local box lumber market.
He stated that the outlook for box
shook tor the coming season Is not
very bright. -
