Wllllaui Desmond Is to he seen In
a new role in "Straight Through."
Blue Streak Western, in which he
will be starred In tho Pine Tree
Theater, tomorrow. Tho role Is that
of a man whoso attempts to aid o'h-
Jkers are misunderstood to such effect
that he finds himself in great
trouble. '
The scene at the story is a min
ing camp town and the character
portrayed by Desmond starts out irrt
the story as an all-arounl bad man,
who reforms as- tho result of an un
usnnl experience. After his reforma
tion he becomes known as Good
need OJDny. because of his propen
sity for doing good deeds.
It is when he tries to protect a
woman whom his best friend had'
married, in ignorance of her rather
unconventional past, that O'Day's
troubles begia. The story is a melo
drama with a decided comedy angle,
as well as the love interest that de
velops between O'Dny and tho sister
of his friend.
A number of desperate fights and
some spectacular horsemanship are
played in this picture story which
was directed by Arthur Rosson.
; The star is sepported by a cftst
of well known screen players. In
cluding Marguerite Clayton, Hutu
Stonehpuse, Claude Payton, Albert
J. Smith. Bill G'llls. Frank Brown
lee and Gcorgo Marion.
One of the comedy scenes is a
poker game in which eight aces ap
pear In one -deal.

Miss TnlmaJgo was never more

of the finest entertainments to
reach the screen this year.
Probably the foremost of the
many great qualities to be found in
"Husbands and LOjiexs1' is its abjo
lutely true portrayal of .life. Bused
on tho Intricacies of domestic hap
piness, the story presents people and
situations that are' familiar to
everyone.
