NEW YORK, March 13. Jack
Dempsey, heavyweight boxing
champion, is a many fisted man If
he can accomplish what one Cali
fornia and three New York pro
moters claim lor hiin.
It he comes east, as he Is ex
pected to do, if the financial in
ducement' is sufficient, Tex Rickard
is expected to drag him toward th
Yankee stadium. Jimmy Dcforjat
will point him toward the tPolo
grounds and Charley Henderson
will head him for the New Crater
in Long Island city. This, of course,
depends upon Oempsey's ability
elude California promoters. A tri
angular battle was apparent yester
day when Deforest telegraphed an
offer of "more money than ever
before" to Jack Kearns, the cham
pion's manager,, while' Henderson
determined ' to have a certified
check for' $500,000 for Dempsey'ii
services in a bout with Harry Wills
and Tex Rickard toresook his trail
in Trenton, N. J., long enough to
explain that he had accomplished
what he had set out to do in the
past and could and would repeit. '
Deforest trained Dempsey for tho
fight with Wlllard at Toledo, which
gave Jack the championship and
his desires may have some weight.
