Councilman Cofer had ' demanded
that he appoint Lee Craft ex-patrolman,

E. Kraney when he was appointed
street commissioner. Loucks ig
nored the demands of the council
man and appointed a man of his
own choosing, and this, naturally
did not set Well with Councilman
Cofer. ;
"While I have nothlns In the

Loucks today. "Also I am going
to run this police department, re
gardless of the wishes of any man
or any group of men." '

from South Pino were heard by
members of the city council last
night and all threo of the requests
were referred to the stiet commit
tee. - More than 12 signatures were
obtained for the paving of a '20 foot
section down Second street and a
lesser number signed a petition to
the city fathers to permit pavement
on Pine street from 11th street to
