Bishop, U. 8. veterinary inspector, has been tftattne; herds throughout the county for tubercul osis. During last springs test 6 percent of all cattle tested wera found to have tuberculosis, while during the present test it Is running about 1 per cent showing that the disease is fairly well under control. But 15 realtors ahve been secured to date, and these will no doubt -be shipped to Portland tho coming week for slaughter under govern ment inspection. The completion, of the present test will leave Klamath county practical ly clean of this disease and should aid greatly in increasing the con sumption of dairy products. Milk and dairy produces are the best balanced food there Is, and every one can feel safe that they are getting a product free from this disease. SULPHUR ORDERS' TO BE TAKEN BY THE COUNTY AGENT Y C. A. UEXDERSOX The farm bureau cooperative ex change Is planning on pooling orders for a carload of sUIphr to be order' ed at once, and any one wishing sulphur to be applied this fall should send their check at the rate of 342.50 per ton to the farm bureau cooperative exchange at once. . If sufficient orders are secured the car should be received here not Inter than November 15. , Any one wanting snlphnr ' for Imemdiate application should write the county agent's office at once, as several tons are available for immed iate . delivery at $42.50 per ton. In order to secure maximum results on next years' alfalfa crop sulphur should be applied this fall Just before the ground freezes up, for during wet weather sulphur will mix wt:h the soil and not be blown away. For applying the ground crude sulphur, the ordinary grain drill perhaps is the best. Experimental work has shown that an application of 100 pounds per acre is advisable.. Throughout eastern Oregon, the ap plication of sulphur has practically doubled the alfalfa crop. COYOTE SITUATION IS CHECKED OVER BY LLS. BIOLOGIST BY O. A. HENDERSON !
