NEGRO GETS 25 DAYS
Dennis HIncs Found Guilty By Jury
In Police Court
Dennis Hines, a negro, who was
arrested at the point of a gun Sun
day night by J. F. McDonald,
patrolman, was tried in the police
court yesterday at 4 p. m. before a
Jury and found guilty of gambling.
This morning he was brought be
fore Judge Gaghogen to he sen
tenced. Ha was fined $50 and
consigned to tho city Jail for 25
days.
In addition to dice found on his
person, rutrolmun J. F, McDonald
discovered, a bottlo of quicksilver,
and a bottle of safo drills. He
pleaded not guilty to the charge
against him.
This Is not the first time Hines
has been before the police authori
ties. Judge Gagbagen queried:
