I'AHIS, Auk. SI. In a secluded
spot Just outside Hie walls of Purls
there stands a small and select in
firmary where diseases of the throat
are treated. Patients suffering from
chronic luryngitis go there fur med

' The attention of the police was
called recently to a series of day
light hold-ups occurring In the
vicinity of the santorium. It seems
that ingenious crooks watched pros
perous looking visitors en;or the In
stitution, noted tho worst cases
those so unable lo utter a sound
that they had to make signs to the
doorman and then set upon them
when, they left and robbed them ot
their money and valuables.
One of the stick-up men received
the shock of his lite tho other day,
when an Intended victim, upon be
ing attacked, suddenly shouted
"help, thlefi" in a voice which
would have been a credl' to a
side-show barker. Fear had brought
back the sick man's voice. "You
have 'cured me." he said to the
crook, "It's ten years since I have
beea able to shout like that. Here
Is a hundred francs; I would much
rather give, this to you than go on
.paying doctors." 5

Has no heavy halves to push and pull apart and injure
floors or rugs. It opens with two easy swinging doors, and
. either section can be opened, packed and locked independ
ently. It stands square in a corner, and takes no more floor
space open than "when shut. It will not tip over backward
while being packed, as it does not stand on two narrow
