FLOWER
SHOW
Wednesday, August 16, Afternoon and Evening
Melhase Building, Corner Main and Fifth
Under the Direction of the

J. ... ,4 .'
Women's Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce
SIGNIFICANT AND SYMBOLIC
Flowers, intfioanl for centuries of many
diverse ideas and differing degrees of .senti
ment, symbolic of mankind's highest hopes,
strike a common chord of admiration in human
hearts, and are a uniting bond.
Flowers, like trees, possess individuality'
and lend their individuality to the garden that
they adorn. Many flower gardens give indi
viduality to a community.
Their beauty creates a home-like and liv
able atmosphere.
With this thought in mind, the Woman's
Auxiliary of the Chamber of Commerce, hist
year launched the first Klamath Falls annual
flower show, and it was crowned with magnifi
cent success, far beyond that attained by the
usual fii-st effort.
The second annual flower show Wednes
day will repeal and enlarge upon the initial
success.
A household or community can exist with
out flowers truly. But' think of what the
world would lack in softer influences; the cul
ture and romance of the past ages that have
speeded the world's advancement by centuries,
which had birth in the love of flowers.
The Klamath Falls annual Flower Show is
a big, worth-while institution. It belongs to
Klamath county not to Klamath Falls alone
and we hope this year that it will get the com
bined support of all flower lovers and flower
growers of Klamath County.

POINTS AWARDED J
The entries will be judged for points. A
blue ribbon will indicate three points; u red
ribbon two points and a white ribbon one point.
No exhibitor will be limited as to the num
ber of entries; therefore the more entries an in
dividual has the greater number of points it is
possible to acquire.
THE MORE THE BETTER
It is the desire of the committee to have as
large a variety of and as many flowers as pos
sible. We realize that there have been draw-.,
backs to flower culture this season, but if every '
grower of flowers will exhibit this difficulty
will be overcome.
The aim is to get a general exhibit, and
the committee urges everyone to make an entry. J'
You may think that you have no chance of (
winning. You cannot tell unless-you tiy. You'
may take one of the prizes.
If you fail to take a prize you can at least
get a ribbon, and more than that you will have
the satisfaction of knowing that you have done
something for the general good of the commun
ity you live in.
LET EVERY GARDEN BE REPRE-v
SENTED.
