It Is allowed to purchase or secure,
operating control ot tho Central Pa
cific, to complete tho Natron cut-otf,
thus maklng inevitable tho construc
tion ot tho' Trans-state line through
j Central Oregon, connecting with Ita
present Ontarlo-Crano line. Such a
program ot railroad development
would bo ot Immense value to tho
atatu ot, Oregon nnd to the entire
Pacific coast stales.
This promised system would upon
far development 40,000 square miles
ot agricultural, mineral and timber
territory now without adequate rail-1
road facilities, and mostot it without
rail transportation of any kind. j
