navy yard, will bo transferred to
Ploasure Bay off tho South Boston
shore, where It will be moro acces
sible to visitors, if plans now being
mado by Roar Admiral Gloavis,
commandant ot tho First Naval dis
trict, and tho chamber ot commerce
are approved. The Constitution
has been at tho Boston navy yard
'for 15 years. Officials , estimate
that 60,000 persons havo gone
aboard during that time. The num.-
'ber would be greater, It is believed,
it the vessel was moro centrally
located.
The Constitution was built at
Hart's .shipyard here, now Constitu
tion wharf, 122 years ago. Sho was
refitted at the navy yard la 190T.
