THE EVENING HERALD, KLAMATH' FALLS, OREGON
PAOH POVI!
.f!..,
ALLDRESSED
UP Hi IN
NEW HOI
Aflcr monUjfi of preparation and
hustle and bustle, nil Intervening
obstacles hnvo boon surmounted, and
tho Wlntors Jowolry storo Is now
ready to meet tbo public newly dress
ed, In a moro spacious building, and'
with tho equipment necessary to
innko It one of tho most completo
establishments of Its kind In tho
stnto, outside of Portland, perhaps,
but oven some of tho Portland es
tablishments which aro considered
pre-eminently modern, must take
off their hats to tho local store.
Tho Winters building, which will
cost approximately $55,000 when
complotcd, will bo ready for occu
pancy by tenants, on tho two upper
floors, not later than tho first of
Juno. Eleven apartments, in tbo
rear of both floors, and 13 offices
In front on both floors, will bo avail
able when tho building Is finished.
Tho main floor, on which Is to
cated tho Jewelry, optical, and musi
cal departments, is finished. The
Jewelry department, on ono side, oc
tuples a spaco 19x7C feet, and the
optical nni musical departments on
tho other ilde of tho big room oc
cupies a spico equally as large. This
increase la store space has facilitated
the work rnd service In tbo store to
an almost ..nbelieveable extent.
Now equipment of the latest Im
proved kinds has been Installed in
the optical room, and the examining
of eyes, a feature of Mr. Winter's
business that has brought conspicu
ous success to him, is thereby made
moro easy. Always competent to
give satisfaction, this now equipment
improves tbu service, and Mr Win?
tcrs is elated with it. It Is possi
ble, also. In this department, to
grind lens to any consistency, and
without delay. It Is not at all neces
sary "to send away to get tho lens
you desire with his equipment, Mr.
Winters can deliver your Ions to you
just exactly when you want It and
tho way you want it. It is a pecu
liar fact 'that people generally feel
that the only place satisfaction can
bo obtained in cases like this Is to
send to n big city tor what they
want, nover stopping to think that
it la ridiculously easy to hare the
sajne work done, or to get. the same
goods, right In tho little, old home
town.
With more space at his disposal.
Mr. Winters added materially to hit
Jewelry stock. Diamonds and watch
es, Community silver, cut glass,
clocks, and all such things as those
aro there In a pleasing variety and
attractive displays. A bigger and bet
ter stock. That tells It all in a fow
words.
The phonograph department In
cludes Aeollans and Drunswlcks, and
tbo handsomo Ferry phonograph
lamps. The latter, particularly,
adds wonderfully to the appearanco
of even the prettiest rooms, and the
music Is unusually soft and sweet.
A special room In which to display
and play theso phonographs has been
provided, and it certainly Is the most
popular part of tho Winters erf
tabllshment. Of course Mr. Winters
also sells all the newest and best
records.
A big assortment of player piano
rolls is also on hand.
Woodstock typewriters, and type
writer supplies, are also a part of
Mr. Winter's stock, also a bang-up
lino of strings for all stringed in
struments. Mr. Winters haa been In business
horo a good many years, and tho
completion of this building and the
opportunity to carry a larger stock,
has been the dream of his business
Ilfo. Now his dream has come true,
and the city of Klamath Falls Is
Just as proud of his success as he Is
himself.
