paid rotlrcd omployeos. and tips. Pay
ment for pysonat services may bo
psld for partly In cash nnd partly In
board and lodging. In this event a
fair valuo must bo placed on tho
room and meals, and the amount re
ported as Income.
Promissory notes received in pay
ment for services, and not merolyns
security for such payments, consti
tute Incomo to tho amount of their
fair market valuo. When services nro
paid for In something other than
money, tho fair 'market value of tho
thing taken in payment Is tho amount
"lo bo included as incomo.
If the services wore rendered at n
stipulated prlco in tho absenco of
evidence to the contrary such prlco
will bo presumed to bo tho fair vol
o of tho compensation recolvcd.
Compensation credited to a taxpay
er's nccount and subject to with
drawal must bo reported as Incomo
whether actually received or not.

sales, together with Incomo from

bo roported as Incomo. A farmor who
rents his farm on tho crop-share bas
is must report such Incomo for tho
year in which tho crops aro sold. Pro
fit derived from the salo or rental
of farm lands must bo reported.
Within the meaning of tho rcvcnuo
act tho term "farm" includes stock,
dairy, poultry, fruit, nnd truck
farms; also ranches, plantations, nnd
all land used for farming operations.
Individuals, partnerships, or corpor
ations that operate or manago farms
for profit, either ns owners or ton
ants aro designated farmers.
