tary, camo to their deatha by acci
dent caused by "the criminal negli

cerdlct returned by a coroner's Jury
at the Inquest here.
Ur. Van de Water and Miss Leub
ben were killed last week when the

truck and trailer that had been left
standing unllghted on the highway,

the advent ot cold weather the Hud
son Day dog derby is again a topic
for discussion In the north country
and many suggestions for the better
ment ot the 1921 derby are being
brought forward. The rnco, which
will likely be held ealy in March,
will bo for a purse of $2,500 If a
suggestion to increase it to this sum
Is approved at the annual meeting of
tbe members of the derby to bo held
shortly.
This purse Is not considered too
blgh in view ot the heavy expense
incurred in maintaining and prepar
ing a dog team for racing. The dogs
nro very expensive last spring pups
sellllng at $200 for five, and full
grown and trained animals from $75
to $100 each.
