Modern four room, houso only three blocka from Main street, big lot, ex cellent view and fine location. It's axoTHKn courthouse JOOMS O.V HORIZON Still another courthouse for Kla math county? This is tho question Aroused In the minds of cltttens upon learning of tbo ambition ot a certain ectlon ot tho county to .divide the ounty and haro Vnew county seat, probably at Uonants, .And the ques tion, with all Its significance, la by Bo means forgotten by a single tax paying resident of Klamath county. According to reports thsre has been hown considerable Indignation orer the proposed splitting oft ot a cer tain section ot the county. Information gained from an attor Bey Indlcntea that under the present laws only persons who hare a rote on whether or not a county shall be divided are those actually residing In the part of the county which It Is proposed shall secede. This being true, only those people who lire east of the township line between ranges 11 to 12 from the California line. About four miles north, then east of the township line six miles farther "west and running north the full 124 miles to the county's boundary, would be allowed to decide upon toe Issue. Since tho northern halt of this proposed county would be a strip t land about 12 miles wide and 40 or. CO miles long, most of which Is on tbn rotnrrnllnn and la untaxed land. the main populated sections remaln4iHore to do so ing would be uonants, iwwgeii Tai ley, and the Malln section, together with parta ot Poe valley. These are the sections of Klamath county that would have a new courthouse to build, sew county officers to support, mad a large proportion, of the. Present county bonded Indebtedness to "take over. ' ' According to the Information ob-( tallied regarding the state law a peti tion signed by a certain number ot the residents ot the proposed "new county" may be acted on by the coun ty court and then sent to the state legislature to oe submitted to the people ot the proposed county at the next general primary election, for tbelr approval or rejection. This fea ture of the law has been changed since the division creating tho pre sent Deschutes county was made, at that time the whole state having the vote upon the division of a county. That residents ot itononxa are de sirous of having the county divided and tho new county seat located there Is Indicated by reports that bare reached here. This suspicion would seem to bo confirmed In the lact that other sections ot the new county which It Is proposed to make haTe not been solicited with the pe tition, as well as by the fact that the proposed line cuts out most of the towns or thickly settled sections where opposition to the plan might be moro suro to cause Its defeat. It has not been learned yet, whether the required number of citizens of the I proposed county hare signed the pe tition or not.
