Vote tor George Chastain
For County Judge
HE STANDS ON THE PLATFORM OF PROGRESS
?
T
His election means for Klamath County an administration of county affairs
in which money will cease to be paid for attorneys fees and more money will be
available for road building; in which no money will be paid to private detec
tive agencies and more mon'ey will be spent in school development
If you as a taxpayer and voter stand for progress, how can you do other
wise than endorse the attitude shown by this extract from Mr. Chastain's
signed and published statement: '.

CONFEDERATE NOTES
LONDON, Sept. 11. (By Mall)
Tho old swindle of passing currency
notes of the confederate states of
America which has been worked In
England for years, Is flourishing
again. Reports of tho victimization
of shop-keepers at ports have been
reaching the American embassy here
In Increasing numbers recently.
A picket seller at one of the big
'London rallwaystatlons gave a Swiss
waiter 11 English poinds for a ISO
confederate note but became auspi
cious before the waiter had gone far
and had him detained. The police
wero In a dilemma aa they could not
distinguish tho nolo from good Amer
ican money and finally had to appeal
to the American ombassy.
Tho Swiss satd ho obtained the
noto from an American but declined
to say how much the transaction
cost him. Tho police believed bis
story that he had acted In good fnlth
with the ticket seller.
The police say this swindle runs In
wavos cropping up every few years
but that at present It Is bolng per
petrated on a larger scale and moro
successfully then heretofore.
