CRUCIFIED; SURVIVES
MKXICO CITY, May 30.. (By
Mall,) Dr. Jose dl Oablrele, the
crucified by the Indian Inhabitants
of Tequltlstlsn, Oaxaca, last flood
Friday, arrived rxcenlly In Mexico
City, enroute to his home in Pa
chuca, apparently little the worse
physically, but still harboring his be
liefs. Dr. Oarblele appeared In Oaxaca
early In Unt, proclaiming himself
to be the Savior and so worked on
the superstitious and Ignorant In
dians that they crucified him, using
railway spikes to nail him to a crude
cross. He was taken down the next
day and survived bis ordeal, being
viewed by thousands on Easter.
News of the crucifixion reached
the capital of the state, Tebuantepec
and the governor ordered Dl flsbrl
ele brought there. A great proces
sion followed the cart in which be
was transported. Later the mayor of
TequUlstlan, who acted as the Ro
man centurion and four other princi
pal figures In the crucifixion, were
arrested.
