gence, and learned to obey simple
commands. She appearedd to recog
nize her name, and wouldd follow
members of the family around the
yard like n pet dog or cat. The
children of tho vicinity found great
amusement In bringing her grnss
hoppers and other small insects, dur
ing the summer months, which she
would eat from their hands.
Ono peculiarity of this hen was

The family of Sir. Rice have three
of Grnnny's progeny, which they de
sire to keep till It appears whether
the characteristics of the mother
have been transmitted to the young
hens.
