When In formal form tho agree ment will bo presented to tho full committee for adoption. In tho caso of tho miners", tho agreement will have to go hack to a convention of th.e niine"workers for ratification. Whether tho mina workers will remain at kwork, if-an agreement Is not reached by March -31, will de pend largely, It Is said, on how stren uously tho operators oppose tho de mands. No opinion has thus far beon given by either sido as to tho out come of tho negotiations. Tho opin ion was expressed,- however, that the negotiations probably would not be taken up seriously until tho bitu minous wage scale has been agreed upon. The demands ot the mine workers are as follews: "That tho next contract bo' for a period of not exceeding two years and that the making of individual agreements and contracts in the mining of coal shall be prosecuted.
