Adams, Held secretary of tho National Parks Highway Association. "Tourbtb from every state in tho union, with travel almost equally divided between east and west bound cars, havo toured tho 3,000 mllea of highway from Chicago to tho Pacific Coast nnd from Puset Sound to Lake Michigan," ho said. Mr. Adams bases tho value of motor travel on an estimate of 1,060 ears! that occupants of each car spent at least $15 a day while on tho read: and that each of tho 30,000 cars was on tho highway a minimum of 20 days. "I consider the estimate a very conservative one," he said. "This traffic was interstate and does NOT take Into consideration the greatly Increased volume of interstate travel." Although every city and town al ong tho highway has benefited great ly, those towns, Mr. Adams declared, which have established free camps tor tourists tnd provided accomoda tions for their comfort have reaped the greatest financial harvest. . To this, ho de clared, many workmen wore opposed. W. A. "Political strikes must either fall or end in revolution." ho said "They aro "hot against tho capitalist but against the community. It Is not tho capitalists that suffer butthe people.
