The opening of the deer season

and surrounding country somewhat
curbed the usual number of society
events ot the week. However tho com
ing of the foil and winter season pro
mises to bring on many importnnt
functions among society folk in Klam
ath falls.
-Nothing that has occurred In the
social circles of the city for some
time has caused a greater stir than
lias the appearance here ot L. A. Hep
burn. Mr. Hepburn is a teacher of
dancing not the ordinary, every-day
jazz dancer, but a teacher of the art
ot dancing that is fast becoming the
recognized paitlme of the people of
tho nation who have tired of the
"rag" that has been the source of
much criticism. He has for years
taught dancing in the army and navy
circles and is one of the very few
teachers recognized by the govern
ment. Another peculiarity about him !s
that he carries with him the strong
est indorsements of the commanding
officers of both the navy and army,
the chapllns, Red Cross officials and
leading church and social workers.
But this Is aside from the real In
terest he U arousing here. It is said
of him that he can teach anyone how
to dance, and the prospects are that
