niiiff a Tour of Inspection That
Will Include Rancher anil Busl
ncss Man.
It is the Intention of County Agri
culturist Thomas to make the most
out of the success that has attended
the use of sulphur on lands in the
I valley, and with that end In view he
Is planning on having an excursion
next Tuesday In which It Is expected
that every rancher and business man
will be a participant. The purpose
Is to show Just what has happened
so that every rancher will join In the
movement to put sulphur on a great
ly Increased acreage next year.
The use of sulphur on alfaJa In
Klamath County Is not entirely new.
The Oregon Experiment Station has
been co-operating with F. T. Nelson,
Hurl Short and Frank McCornack
or at least threo years on this and
other fertilizers. Tho first large
shipment of sulphur was brought In
last spring by Captain J. W. Siem
ens. A largo part of this was used
on the Ankeny ranch. The balance
went out In smaller lots ,and was ap
plied to alfalfa on a number of
ranches, among which were tho Al-
tamont, Qurrell Short, K. E. McClay,
Bruce Gaddls and U. E. Reeder
ranches.
Results from last spring's appli
cation or. suipnur nave been very
gratifying, as indicated by the fol
lowing cemments:
"My Inrestment of $40 for 1,000
I pounds of sulphur last spring win
I mean more than $400 In my pocket
Uhls year. It has meant more than
half of that on mylrst cutting."
U. E. Reeder.
"I lost at least $20 an acre this
year on every acre of alfalfa that I
I did not put sulphur on. I want In
on the first carload that is ordered,
for the balance of my alfalfa." E,
E. McClay.
"I will be ahead more than twenty
tons of hay on twenty acres of my

Maybe you do not like the narrow
pointed "English" last. Possibly you
have been wearing it so long you want
a change, and yet you want a shoe of
character; of distinctiveness; of class.
Here we have the answer. A shoe of
somewhat straighter lines a little
wider toe; trifle narrower in the shank;
fits snugly up into the arch, with good
sensible heel. Made of excellent black
or tan calf; workmanship and finish
that stand out and please.
We call it the COMBO. Sizes and
widths to fit you. Priced at $10.00
and $11.00 and worthy of the price.
