RVri'llllAV, MAV 17, lull). v M ' (f a , L. THE EVENING HERALD, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON What Robert E. Strahorn Agrees to De: In reply to the request of the Strahorn Railroad Executive Committee for a statement, the following clear cut reply from Kobt. E. Strahorn has been received : Spokane, Wash., May 14, 1919. "Trustees Strahorn Railroad Terminal Fund, "Klamath Falls, Oregen: "As to what citizens of Klamath Falls may rely upon, I beg to say that in case Klamath Falls raises present Terminal Fund in hands Trustees Strahorn Railroad Terminal Fund to Fifty Thou sand Dollars in good, negotiable subscription notes, or part such subscription in notes and part in cash, and provided that said Trus tees turn proceeds over to me, my successors or assigns when Stra horn Railroad shall have been constructed and completed from Dairy to Sprague River, I agree to secure terminal site in Klamath Falls and rights of way remaining unsecured between Dairy and Sprague River, and will commence construction railroad Dairy to Sprague River and prosecute same to completion. Will also re lease citizens Klamath Falls from necessity of furnishing right of way Klamath Falls to Upper Klamath Lake. Having conceded so much, I must ask that whether in notes or cash the Terminal Fund must be made surely available without any responsibility for col lection of notes or other subscriptions on my part ROBERT E. STRAHORN." Comment is unnecessary. Mr. Strahorn has more than ful filled his promises to us in the past. The people of Klam ath Falls agreed to furnish passenger terminals and rights of way. This they failed to do. Mr. Strahorn now agrees to release us from this obligation and all we must do to avail ourselves of his most advantageous offer is to make subscriptions of $20,000 more to our Terminal Fund to bring the fund to $50,000. With all the prosperity the Strahorn railroad has brought us and the immediate increased prosperity that a railroad to Sprague River will surely bring us, this small amount should be subscribed in one day. Committees will call upon our citizens on Monday the 19th. We are building a greater fabric of industrial prosperity than we now realize. Subscribe cheerfully and then get ready to take care of your share of the prosperity sure to follow. Strahorn Railroad EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, t ' : ( V.-' PAGB - It . .
