KLAMATH ENGINEERS REACH HOME SAFELY HOUOKEN, April 18. The first battalion of the 20th Engineers ffhlch left Bordeaux on April Sixth, docked at Hoboken yesterday after noon. It consisted of tho headquart ers detachment, medical detachment, the first, second, third and fifth com panies. Tho following Klamath County men are Included, Clarence Ragsdale, Louis Plouf, Oakley Welch and N. Nlepoth. There are 400 California and Ore gon men In the battalion. Associated Press The conflicting claims of the city of Flume and the Dalmatian Coast, which have been laid before the peace conference by Italy auad Jugo-alavla, will be brought to a de cl'iion soon, according to expectations. The controversy was aroused by public sentiment in Italy, and wheat parliament meets, on April 27th, Pre mier Orlando will probably be asked for a report. He Is therefore Terjr fanxious for a settlement before that time. The allied peace terms will prob ably not be laid before the Germans until Saturday of next week, and pos sibly not before the following Moat day. This will ,elay proceedings, and it is not expected that the terms can go to Weimar, receive Instruction and return to, Paris before May 8th. According to present plans the Ger mans will be permitted to ask ques tions, but no discussion of the terms will be permitted. Only President Wilson and the premiers will be pres ent. Libau has been seized, by German, and Baltic-German troops. The Let tish provisional government has been, ousted, according to report, and some of the' ministers imprisoned. The British mission Is at Llbau, and the British warships are in the harbor. There may be some action taken against the Germans. Llbau Is an important Russian sea port in the Courland government on the Baltic Coast. It has a popula tion of about 65,000. WATT BUYS HUGE HERD OF CATTLE George Watt, has purchased a herd of 400 head of cattle from Ben Kern of the Keno district and has leased a thousand acres of the Kern land In the Keno district for their pasturage this season.
