Diplomatic relations have been es
tablished between the Russian and
Bavarian soviet governments, it is
reported.
COPENHAGEN, April 10. Dis
patches from Isslnen today state that
citizens and officials of Wuenzburg,
thirty miles northwest of there,
have struck against the Bavarian
soviet republic, and that the town is
now in thei hands of the government
troops. Heavy fighting against the
Spartacan forces occurred when the
government troops stormed the royal
palace and captured tho railroad.
Many of the Spartacan leaders are re
ported arrested there.

CAMPAIGN TO OBTAIN
VOLUNTEERS STARTED.
TACOMA, April 10. To assist the
government In raising 500,000 volun
teers to replace the men in the army
now, thirty-five mwi and two offl-
ceri, from Camp Lewis, will start this
".ok on a recruiting campaign In a
motor truck. They will set up model
camps, where they stop enroute.

At an enthusiastic meeting at Poe
Valley last night, a new squirrel pois
oning club was launched and a sys
tematic campaign for the extermina
tion of the pest thruout the entire
valley, was undertaken.
E. L. Jamison of the Biological
Service, who Is working here with
County Agent E. pt. Thomas, was
present and gave an Interesting talk
during which he mixed a sample
batch of the poisoned oats for the
benefit of the farmers.
John Van Meter, a prominent re
sident of that section was chosen
leader for the district and a commit
tee of four men will be selected to
aid him In his work. He will have a
supply of the poisoned oats there for
the Poe Valley farmers. Agent Thom
as, Is mixing about a half ton of the
grain for use over the County.
