B. Castellans, sentenced from Ventura County for four years on a charge of robbery, was Instantly killed Satur day In the yard of the Folsom state penitentiary by Joseph C, Negrete, serving a twenty-rive year sentence On a charge of murder la the second de gree. The men were passing out of the prison on their way to the Folsom farm, when Negrete suddenly walked up to Castellana and without ex change of words, plunged a case knife Into his heart. The murderer refused to make any statement in explana tion of the attack, but said that he "was glad that he did it." An attack upon a fellow prisoner which results In his death is a capital offense, murder In the first degree. Th. penalty In this state Is death on the acaffold.
