Heading up the various efforts for greater pro duction from the soil and conserva tion of food supplies, the Manufactur. erg and Land Products Show will be opened at the new Auditorium, Port land, November 3d. The big show will be open to the public for nine teen days, and will represent the best iu soil culture and Industrial devel opment in the Northwest. Every county in Oregon and Southwestern Washington will be represented in the complete exposition. The primary purpose of the exposi tion Is to introduce more fully to the men and women of the Northwest the ultimate consumers the pro ducts of the farms, the orchards, and the dairies of Oregon, and the indus trial plants, shops and factories of the state. The presentation is to be made In a manner that will appeal to every citizen. Being educational In its purpose, the show will aim to teach the consumers of the North west that home industry stands for all that is conducive to the develop ment of latent resources, both human and material. The show will be held at the new municipal Auditorium, constructed at a cost of 1600,000, giving every fa cility "for making displays attractive and for handling large crowds. Two floors will be occupied by the show. The industrial displays and the soil products will be on the main floor.l the manufacturers' pavilion In the basement. The auditorium is near the business center, with ample street car service for the largest crowds in the evenings, without delays. The dairy interests of the North west will be represented by a magnifi cent display. The large creameries of Portland are preparing an exhibit of the products of the cow, to occupy a space approximately 30x60 feet, Hh a complete refrigerating plant in operation. The display will be one of the really great features of the land show. The show management Is also pre paring an exhibit of potatoes and onions raised by dry farming meth ods in the plateau country of Cen tral. Oregon.
