Curses of Persecuted Invoked on War Worker Work of "Dorothy MorrelT in Securing Recruits Brings Long Letter of Abuse From German Sympa . thizer in California. Offi cers to Investigate To have all, the curses of heaven heaped upon her head because of her arduous efforts In behalf of the allies In the European war, Is the rather un. usual experleaos of Mrs. William "Skeeter Bill" Robblns of this city. , Mrs. Robblns, who goes under the name of .Dorothy Morrelt In her pub lic riding exhibitions; In which she participates with her husband, la a Canadian girl, with a brother who was recently wounded In the French trenches. While In 8an Francisco the past two weeks at the California Cowboy Roundup, In which she par ticipated, she spent much of her time endeavoring to Induce enlistments from the Canadians there, and was In strumental la securing eleven. Her efforts were given considerable publicity la the 8an Francisco pa pers, and. she waa .greatly surprised Just, before her return to receive the following letter In an unmistakable German handwriting. ...."Miss Morrei You have persecut ed, the Innocent, and their curse is upon you and your children. Don't you suppose that the prayers of the oppressed Arabs and Hindus are not heard. Whatsoever you do unto your fellow man you do unto me." "When there Is a curse against an Individual he cannot uso his wisdom, his wisdom will fall him in a critical moment. This Is how many accidents befall people. "When there is a curse against a nation, leaders of that nation cannot use their wisdom, that's why allies have been making all those blunders and will continue to make blunders, and Germany will be supreme In the end, If the whole world ararlgns Itself against Germany." The letter concludes with a state ment that "the present .war was start ed by Russia going Into war against Austria, that agitation In Serbia was financed by Russia." It Is believed that If the sealous aide to the Kaiser could have had a good healthy look at "Skeeter Bill" he would be glad he wrote bis mes sage Instead of delivering it in person.
