Humphrey has been appointed deputy brand inspector of Klamath County by A. L. Marshall ot Olene. In a statement given below, Marshall calls the attention of the public to the pro visions of the regulation, and gives! notice of Mr. Humphrey's appoint-1 ment. I Section 17 of chapter 33 of thei session laws of Oregon for the year 1915, among other things provides that any. person not regularly engag ed In slaughtering cattle must retain in bis possession the hides taken off any cdttleT with the ears attached thereto, without any alteration 'of the marks on the same or any disfigura tion of the brand for a period of thir ty days. During that time any owner of cattle or any county brand Inspector or his deputy may demand an exhi bition of the hide or hides of any cattle killed, and upon such demand being made, the killer must produce said hide or hides for inspection. If the killer fails to produce such hide or hides in the condition above mentioned, it Is prima facae evidence of the violation of the provisions of this act, and the killer is subject. to a One and Imprisonment. For the purpose of making this In spection ot hides, I have appointed Sheriff George Humphrey as deputy brand inspector.
