STATEMENT OF ALL FRANCHISES IN EFFECT MAY 31, 1917
April 0, 1895 Light und wuter franchise granted 11. V. Gates: Successor to
Interest, California-Oregon rower Company.
Feb. 18, 1907 Perpetual right and franchise granted the United 8tates of
America to construct, operate and maintain an Irrigating
canal on west side of Link itiver from north line of the
Ureltcnsteln property to north city limits.
Oct. 6, 1908 A peipetunl right and franchise was granted the United State
of America to construct and maintain a concrete conduit on
the west side of Link Itiver from Dreitenslein property to
houineriy cay limns.
Tills franchise should be annulled and declared forfeited,
because of non user; and because Its continuance as a bare
un-used right might materially embarass the city In mm
unexpected development.
Dec. 12, 1903 A ten year franchise was granted to L. Hesalg over certain
streets ror teiegrapn and teiepnone purposes.
(This matter should be looked into and the record cleared.)
Oct 3, 1905 A ten year franchise was granted the Langell Valley Tele
phone company over certain streets: To all appearances this
right has lapsed because of non user and the record sboald
be cleared.
July 15, 1907 A 50-year franchise was granted C. S. R. S. Moore, to erect
poies anu oiner apparatus on certain streets lor electrical
transmission purposes. The California-Oregon Power Co.
is the successor in interest.
Dec. 16, 1909 A 25-year franchise was granted the Western Union Telegraph
co. over certain streets tor its line.
Aug. 15, 1910 A 25-year franchise was granted the Pacilc Telephone aad
ieiegrapn co. over certain streets.
ONDEO INDEBTEDNESS
The present indebtedness of the city is evidenced by the following lasses
bonds outstanding and unredeemed, to wit:
Sewer, Issued 1910, 20 years at 5 per cent due 1930 $40,000.00
Sewer, issued 1911, 20 years at 6 per cent due 1931 . 6,000.00

Whereas, it is deemed expedient to
change the present grade as estab
lished on that portion of Conger ave
nue northerly from the center line of

De It Therefore Resolved that the
Common Council declares its intention
to change the grade of said portion of
Conger avenue to the grade as follews:
